About the Event

Very much looking forward to this magical work shop, we will start with some breath work and centre our selves setting intentions for the coming season and months of summer.

Then we will begin our 108 Sun Salutations with the assistance of Positive Affirmations and some music to keep us going. We will aim to do this within 3 hours and two breaks.

I will close the session with a Guided Mediation, very excited for this one and hope we can be 108 and keeping it magical so please share. Traditionally, practicing 108 Sun Salutations is reserved for the change of the seasons (ie the Winter and Summer Solstice, and the Spring and Fall Equinox).

The Spring Equinox represents a time of rebirth and new beginnings, making it a great time to detoxify the body. At the summer solstice, the Sun travels the longest path through the sky, and that day therefore has the most daylight. When the summer solstice happens in the Northern Hemisphere, the North Pole is tilted about 23.4° (23°27´) toward the Sun.

108 has long been considered a sacred number in Hinduism and yoga. ... Renowned mathematicians of Vedic culture viewed 108 as a number of the wholeness of existence. This number also connects the Sun, Moon, and Earth: The average distance of the Sun and the Moon to Earth is 108 times their respective diameters.

SHP is the charity we will be supporting - Single Homeless Project was founded over 40 years ago by homeless people to work with, guide and support people to have a more fulfilling life and become more independent and have a direct route into social housing if they are ready and they are available.

Over the years we have had to adapt and change with the needs of the people we support, which is approximately 8,000 Londoners per year with a service in all 32 borough's. From providing supported accommodation, guidance and support to those leaving prison and the care system and a support service to those already in social housing every day is different but our ethos has always remained the same - our service users are the main focus.
